[linux-dvb] Re: Replaying SAT.1: Video stays blank - audio is ok

I updated yesterday to the latest driver in CVS.
After I did that I saw an old problem again, which was also reported by
Anton Schegg (see his mail below). I hoped I would never see that problem
again.

When I record SAT1 with a DVB-S card everything works fine, when I record it
with a NOVA card, I hear only the audio, but see a black screen. When I
switched back to an older version of the driver, I could replay the SAT1
recording correctly. So the recorded data is correct, but replay does not
work. I also checked with Klaus' xlist.c and the data looks ok for me.

Anton, do you still have this problem?

I'm using VDR-0.93, because I have another strange problem which nobody
reported so far:
When using VDR-0.94, replay of any recording (old and newly recorded) does
not work at all. The screen goes black for about 5 seconds without any audio
and switches back to live video. There are no messages in the log-file, the
VDR processes start and stop normally.

Does anybody have a similar problem?

Ralf.

I had exactly the same problem with the driver from Klaus ftp-server. But I
don't have the problem when I get the driver via CVS from linuxtv.org and
apply Klaus patch.

Ralf.

I'm using driver 2001-08-23 and have no problems replaying recordings from
Sat.1 (or any other channel).
