[linux-dvb] modules disabled.... ????

Hi all 
I want to compile the siemens-dvb driver
(Suse 7.2, original kernel 2.4.4)
when I type make comes 
error 1
the present kernel configuration has modules disabled
(I have to make a new kernel make config etc....)
but it is impossible that the modules are disabled, because in boot
process the modules are loading and working...
any hints?
