That doesn't look too happy :/

Could you do this:

$ dvbtune -f 505833 -qam 16 -cr 3_4 

to tune the card.. and then this:

$ dvbtune -f 505833 -qam 16 -cr 3_4 -m

for a few seconds to let us see the signal strengths, etc.

Oh I see :/ Are you definately using dvbtune and dvbstream downloaded from 
the CVS respository on sourceforge.net ?
