[linux-dvb] Re: DVB-T and Radio (and PID's)

Sakari,

dvbstream in "PS" mode requires exactly two PIDS.

However, if you use dvbstream in it's default ("TS") mode, then
you can stream anything from a single PID or the whole multiplex if you specify "8192" as the PID.

To listen to the radio station on another PC, you can use my "rtptsaudio" program.

Regards,

Dave.

My Nova PCI card works quite well for TV. However, there are also
some radio channels available on DVB-T. On the other hand, dvbstream
wants exactly two PID's (video *and* audio), and I don't really know
whether any video is broadcast on these radio channels. Here is some
output from 'dvbtune -i' via xml2vdr:

YLE PEILI (RADIO):562000:V:0:27500:0:652:0:0:272

Judging by the TV channels, 652 is the audio PID. There is a '0' where the video PID normally is (after the '27500'.) Well, dvbstream does not
accept the zero as a valid PID.

Then again, I don't know what the 272 at the end is. dvbstream, at
least, outputs nothing with '-ps 272 652'.

Another peculiarity:

YLE TV2 (TV):562000:V:0:27500:513:660,661:0:0:33

This is the only TV channel with *two* audio PID's. However, no sound
seems to come from the '661'.
