[linux-dvb] Software-only Loopback DVB

HI

To greatly increase the number of people who can
try, test and improve dvb-kernel without prior
owning of the card and infrastructure, it would
be of great benefit that a software-only, dummy
dvb device is available in the kernel.

This device will act as normal dvb card, which
will, upon tuning provide a blueish test screen,
continuous tone and, if practicable, cca every
50th of second should dump few nework test packets
consisting of one ping, one udp and one tcp packet.

All of that can be kept in one prepared
half-frame of TS stream.

If possible, from user space should be possible
to feed such dummy device with saved TS stream
to simulate real situation.

Any comments?

Emard
