[linux-dvb] TechnoTrend DVB-C & ABIT BP6 mainboard problems

Hi folks,

I went through a bit more experimentation with my ABit BP6 dual
Celeron and TechnoTrend DVB-C card last night. As mentioned earlier, I
get bad distortions every couple of seconds in the decoded mpeg
picture, both on TV and using TuxView, while a D-Box attached to the
same cable works fine (talking about freetv channels here ;-).

I mounted the card in different PCI slots, and it looks like the
distortions get worse as the card gets closer to the AGP slot. I
wonder if there are any known issues using this DVB card on this
motherboard? Would upgrading the motherboard BIOS help (current
version is 2000-something)?

I also tried disabling the OpenGL nvidida driver in order to get the
dvb-C card to attach to an IRQ of its own, but to no avail, the
distortions persist no matter what IRQ the dvb card is on, or wether
it shares the IRQ with another periphal in the machine. I also tried
fiddling with some BIOS options, but again, nothing, still bad
distortions and wrong colors every couple of seconds.

Driver version used is 0.9.4, using VDR 1.0.4 compiled on a Linux
Mandrake Box (8.2) using gcc 2.96 I believe.

I would be extremely grateful for any comments on this problem,
esp. if you have managed to use a DVB card on this motherboard.

Thanks for your time,

Uwe
