You need to give us way more informations:

First of all, we need the *whole* output of "lspci" regarding the 
saa7146 entry, so we can see if the card is supported at all.

Additionally, you should have a look at your card and write down the 
inscriptions on all chipsets, even the one inside the metal box and post 
it here.
