[linux-dvb] Nova-S still does not work

Hello,

This is the next try, hoping anyone can help me or has the same problem... I
use the Hauppauge Nova-S card behind a multifeed multiswitch (position 0 ->
Hotbird 13°E, position 1 -> Astra 19.2°E). Switching between positions with
Diseqc.

I use the latest newstruct drivers. This is a SuSE 8.0 box with 2.4.20 vanilla
kernel. Compiling and insmod works (output from /var/log/messages):

--- snip ---
Jan 31 12:15:58 h-oppen kernel: Linux video capture interface: v1.00
Jan 31 12:15:59 h-oppen kernel: DVB: registering new adapter
(TT-Budget/WinTV-NOVA-CI PCI).
Jan 31 12:15:59 h-oppen kernel: stv0299.c: setup for tuner SU1278/SH
Jan 31 12:15:59 h-oppen kernel: DVB: registering frontend 0:0
(STV0299/TSA5059/SL1935 based)...
--- snap ---

After switching to a channel with szap,

andreas@h-oppen:~/dvb/DVB/apps/szap> ./szap -n 1
zapping to 'Das Erste':
sat 1, frequency = 11837 MHz H, symbolrate 27500000, vpid = 0x0065, apid =
0x0066
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
status 1f | signal af01 | snr b3d9 | ber 0000ab00 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal b03b | snr c000 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal aefe | snr c44d | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK

reading from /dev/dvb/adaptor0/dvr0 does not output any data. The scan tool
works fine. The test_pes tool seems to work partly: I often get the output
"read error: buffer overflow (75)" but also lots of hexdump data.

Here is the output of lspci -vvv:

00:0b.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146 (rev 01)
Subsystem: Technotrend Systemtechnik GmbH: Unknown device 100f

        Status: Cap- 66Mhz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort-

        Latency: 32 (3750ns min, 9500ns max)
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 19
        Region 0: Memory at ea001000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512]

Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong or at least confirm that there
are driver problems with this model?

Thanks in advance
Andreas
