[linux-dvb] Re: MAXIM and other Video/Audio ICs

Hi,

does anybody know where to get MAXIM's video chips like
the MAX4222 for driving 4 video channels (-> buffering and ESD
protection) ... or the low capacity diode arrays like BZS408
(philips), or GCDA05 or S8C05-8 or SR70 ...

It seems that there is no source for getting such ICs to make
a real protection PCB for a J2 connector.
you can order MAXIM ICs directly in the webshop on their homepage (http://www.maxim-ic.com/). Most chips are even available as free samples in low quantities. Be carefully, if you buy the chips they charge pretty high shipping costs, we had to pay ~50USD for 10 chips delivered by DHL, and they needed several weeks for delivery...

Philips has a webshop on their site as well. Diodes can get ordered alternatively e.g. by On Semiconductors (http://www.onsemi.com/), they have a very customer-friendly sample shipping policy and deliver fast and cheap if you buy something. And their cross-reference-search engine is pretty good.

http://www.mouser.com/ and http://avnet.com/ are other fine places to check prices and buy parts, even in low quantities.
