[linux-dvb] Help with North America setup

Hi,

I've been pounding on this for a while and haven't been able to get much success making this work under linux. I'm in Canada trying to connect to the Expressvu sat. The free channels work under Windows, but I haven't been able to get a signal lock with linux.

I've tried modifying the szap app to handle the circular polarities, and the changes look good, but my problem must be something bigger. For example, I'm trying to get a free channel on freq 12399 MHz with szap. It gives me the following output:

reading channels from file '/home/mythtv/.szap/channels.conf'
zapping to 'bev1':
sat 0, frequency = 12399 MHz 3, symbolrate 20000000, vpid = 0x1422, apid = 0x1423
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'

status 03 | signal 81ee | snr 70c5 | ber 0000ff00 | unc 00000000 |

I think the signal looks good. It thinks there's a carrier, although I never get a lock. Any recommendations on where to go from here? I've looked all through the drivers to see if there would be anything which wouldn't work in NA, but the only things I found were in the apps. I'm also forcing inversion on, which is needed here.

Thanks in advance,
Jerry
