This is more to do with mplayer being a bit ropey than anything else - if you 
continue to watch the stream for a few seconds, you will probably find that 
it magically corrects itself.. if not, experiment with the -autosync option - 
check the extensive man page for mplayer...

I also see that MPlayer 0.91 has been released recently, so you may like to 
upgrade to that.  Alternatively, lots of people seem to favour Xine for MPEG 
playback, so you may like to investigate this too...

These issues are now firmly userspace, though, since the DVB card just spools 
out the raw MPEG stream as broadcast - so whilst you have new issues to 
solve, you know your Nova-T is working fine :)
