I heard that there are some other "budget" cards that need software
diseq as well.
yes, the Technotrend/Hauppauge Nova-PCI cards, take a look in dvb-kernel/linux/drivers/media/dvb/ttpci/budget.c to see the actual implementation. Maybe it's possible to share some code here.
