No. His patch isn't ready, IMHO. It's very nice, but I don't think it's
ready: as soon as adding hw_filters=0 (and making this the default, and
only requesting his code with hw_filters=1), this patch is fine, and should
be added to CVS, but not now, when there is no option 'hw_filters=0' yet.

I think that a hw_filters option is useful and should be added.

BTW, what is the stability level target of the CVS?
Is the CVS intended as a playground for developers (so having an imperfect
driver for some time is admissable) or has it a sort of "release candidate"
meaning?
(it should always compile so that your personal games does not affect other drivers - and you should be willing to fix the stuff you broke;)

In general things should go as soon as possible into CVS in order to avoid patch versioning confusion and to have a common reference source to talk about. If you start something really experimental and you expect to brake things for some time it's usually better to start a new CVS branch for this project and merge things into the main trunk as soon the code becomes stable.

In a development environment the current patch looks good enough to be
committed in order to receive more feedback.
Ok, since I applied the DiSEqC patch before it fails, can you please generate an updated version?
