He used 2.6, so trying "build-2.4" won't work for him...

Michael: the dvb-bt8xx stuff is not in mainstream 2.6 yet. You have two 
choices:

1) use a 2.4 kernel and try the steps mentioned by Holger above
2) use a 2.6 kernel and use the "makelinks" script to replace the kernel 
dvb driver with the latest driver from the CVS. I must admit that I 
haven't tried this for a long time, so expect problems here.

So if you're a newcomer, I'd definately vote for 1).
