[linux-dvb] Re: DVB-S RGB output wiring suggestions
I've found some info at
http://www.vdrportal.de/board/portal_vdrinfo.php?
site=7&infonr=4&infoln=en&sid=2e010195ed29a33af8a7f3d506ae42c0 but
cannot decipher it.
If I'm absolutely anal about picture quality and protecting my DVB-S
card and also interested in the SPDIF out what would my item list to
take to the electronics store be? I'll work out how to connect things
together after I have the parts :/
Regards,
Michal

Hi,
I've started a new thread because I wanted to change the topic of my
previous thread and get as broad a viewing as possible. In my previous
thread I was told how to fix my wiring so that I would get a picture
and this worked but the output is much too grainy with light colours
on white being consumed by the white around them and solid blacks
having visible grain.
It was suggested that the RGB out on the cards (via J2) is not
terminated and that I should try wiring 75Ohm resistors between R and
ground, G and ground and B and ground. I'm about to go to the local
electronics store and pick up said resistors but since they will be
closed for the next few days I would love to know if I should pick up
anything else for my testing. What if I wanted the outputs to be
filtered so that connecting/disconnecting to J2 while the TV and/or
computer are on is not risky? Keep in mind that I am electrically
ignorant but can follow instructions reasonably well.
Thanks for any suggestions and have a very Merry Christmas!
Regards,
Michal
