Does PCTV CI have an onboard mpeg decoder?
I think you get /dev/video0 only if you have mpeg +
v4l drivers loaded.

While tuning on a channel with szap -r , try running

cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 | mplayer -

(mplayer reading raw ts)
