DVD players need to handle disks with scratches.  That's why they have
copies of the .ifo files in the .bup files.

Inserting silence will cause clicks.  Somewhat better is to
interpolate linearly between the ends of the gap.  If there are cycles
to spare it would be possible to do some more advanced interpolation.
