[linux-dvb] Re: Still problems with TechnoTrend Nexus-S board andkernel 2.6.3-7mdk

Hi Christophe,

I have the same card that is running on a Fedora Core 2 (kernel 2.6.5) (with CI and cam).

Hi there,

Sorry to bother but I'm still experiencing problems with my TechnoTrend/Haupauge Nexus-S and my new mandrake 10.0 distribution.

All the compilation process seems to go ok now and the firmware seems to be found when needed.

Then, I call ./insmod.sh from the build-2.6 directory and anything I want seems to load.

lsmod shows that all the modules I want are loaded.

The only worrying message si sent by dmesg and reads as follows :
----------
videodev: "av7110" has no release callback. Please fix your driver for proper sysfs support, see http://lwn.net/Articles/36850/

I also have it in my dmesg...but I have also the following: av7110: found av7110-0 (I saw that you have it also few line below...)

-------

However, none of the test applications can lock the tuner altough they could successfully do so before with a kernel 2.4.22-10mdk. What am I doing wrong please.

This does not mean that you made something wrong. First time I had installed dvb driver (included with the kernel), I wanted to start the scan utility. It didn't work (I had timeout if I remember well...) but the szap utility was working.
Using vdr, I could switch to free to air channels and make screenshot with vdradmin (I have no TV out currently)
May be you could use vdr to check that you can get some free to air channels.

From the trace that I see below, it should work since all modules seem to be loaded. If you don't want to use vdr, you can try KaxTV. It seems to work well (I didn't test it yet)

Sorry not to be able to help more.

Boris
