The 1020 is different from the 1030. The 1020 never had a problem till 2.6.7.
I don't know the case with 2.6.8, though.

Any way it's time to dig into the i2c code i think..

Why ? This message should not be here. Do you have the dst compiled as a
module ? What happened to the dst module ? I am having the same MOT card
with me. I don't see any of the error messages from the dst module..

The frontend is loaded.. A confirmation from the dst module.

Please do check whether you have the dst module compiled in the first case ...
