[linux-dvb] TechniSat SkyStar 2 doesn't work with 2.6.10 RC3??

Hello,

I have one of the new intel 915 boards with integrated Graphics. Since Suse
9.1 doesn't support this system well, I used a vanilla kernel from
kernel.org.

I tried 2.6.10 RC1 and now 2.6.10 RC3. Same symptoms.

Unfortunately, I cannot get my DVB card to function. I loaded the modules

skystar2
mt312
stv0299

When I load mt312 and stv0299, the log entries are as follows:
*******************
Dec 18 19:58:23 linux kernel: master_xfer: read error !
Dec 18 19:58:23 linux kernel: message 0: flags=0x0, addr=0xe, buf=0x7e, len=1
Dec 18 19:58:23 linux kernel: message 1: flags=0x1, addr=0xe, buf=0xe0, len=1
Dec 18 19:58:23 linux kernel: mt312_read: ret == -121
Dec 18 19:58:28 linux kernel: stv0299: try to attach to SkyStar2
Dec 18 19:58:28 linux kernel: stv0299: setup for tuner Samsung TBMU24112IMB
Dec 18 19:58:28 linux kernel: DVB: registering frontend 0
(STV0299/TSA5059/SL1935 based)...
*******************

(I also tried all the other frontend drivers, but without any luck).

But when I try to run e.g. zapdvb, the output is as follows:

*******************
zapdvb: Info: config file : /usr/local/share/zapdvb/zapdvb.conf
zapdvb: Info: process info: /root/.zapdvb_run
zapdvb: Info: DVB-S LNB settings: type='UNIVERSAL' band=high
zapdvb: Info: channel='ZDF' sat=0-hori frequ=11954MHz srate=27500 video=110
audio=120
zapdvb: Info: using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and
'/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
zapdvb: Error: Opening frontend failed (/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0): No such
device or address
*******************

/dev/dvb/adapater0/frontend0 is existing when I list it with ls, but is
obviously not OK.

BTW, my hardware is OK. I can view DVB in Windows, but want to get rid of
Windows. And I tried it with user root and also made root member of group
'video'. So it shouldn't be a problem related to access rights.

Does anyone know, why my card is not working? Any hint would greatly be
appreciated.

Cheers,
Bernhard
