[linux-dvb] Frontend-specific ioctl's

Hi,

What would be the best way to implement a frontend-specific ioctl (or 
another access possibility) for accessing special and specific demod-data 
from user level? Maybe a dedicated /dev-node?

The DiBcom frontends have some registers which aren't querried by the 
dvb-api, but some users requested them to be evaluated. Easiest would be a 
extendable user-space application which access the register directly, but 
how?
