I just committed the changes I spoke about in the other mail. It was 
exactly the problem I described.

The current approach causes a high burstiness. When the audio buffer 
gets too full, it suddenly sleeps typically about 300-500ms at once -- 
this should be "sliced".

VDR recording playback now basically works, although there are sometimes 
problems with "pts clock skew", ie. the end pts of one "audio slice" is 
smaller than the begin pts.

I'll have a look at this tomorrow perhaps, although I'm really looking 
forward to add the cle266 stuff.
