Once upon a time Klaus Schmidinger shaped the electrons to say...

>What kind of DVB card are you using?

2.1 and
nova (Rev. 1.1 TT2000.6)

switched the antenna plugs: Both signals are OK.

>I'm using a Siemens DVB-S.
>Maybe it's a problem between the latest driver and your card type?

Went back to 094+dvb 20010803(Did not help)

I opened the case to reduce temperature
(CPU from 40C down to 34C, that's not so much, and 40C on the
die (PIII-diode) is nothing)

immediate record of SF1 (channel 9)-> after few seconds that error.

removed the nova, reboot etc.

immediate record of SF1 -> no error

Reinsert the nova
immediate record of SF1 -> after few seconds that error!!!

started another record on channel 10
Starts.

stopping the record on channel 9 (on the nova)

the box "dies",
lirc_ "buferoverflows" (the user level seems to be "dead")
on condole
Power comsumtion rises because no "idle"-task is running.

it looks liek this (pls. scroll down, more text follows)

instandly "MPEG1" errors

Now i started record on the nova card:
almost immediatley

3:03 vdr[452]: editing timer 26
3:42 vdr[452]: timer 26 modified (active)

5:04 vdr[452]: timer 26 stop
5:04 vdr[452]: deleting timer 26

So:

2.1 playing alone gives no error
2.1 recording alone gives no error
recording from the nova gives MPEG1 error.

This seems to be a problem with the/a/my DVB-s nova
or a second card, if it is a nova.
But I always said that i have dropouts...:-)
(Hm...there is no room in the MS6215 case for a another full size.)
Any way how to get more infos if this special card is broken
or if there is a problem with nova tho.

Now i had the idea, that VDR might be able do do
a record with the nova alone:
It seeems not to work:
