[vdr] faster cpu ˙roblems ?

Hi,

i'm planning to upgrade my vdr box with a faster cpu (above 1GHz) to gain the ability to run mplayer for playing divX files on the dvbs card. btw. I have tried this with my amd k6-2 400MHz and the quality is excellent ! But thats another story ... (see below)

Is it true that a faster cpu will lead to problems with current drivers / vdr ? I read it in the "mpeg1 ..." thread, but did not get the conclusion from it - maybe i missed some mails because of problems with my isp.
Can anyone please be so kind to comment on this ?

btw. Anyone working on including mplayer into vdr ? Or at least calling mplayer from the main menue of vdr ?
The mpeg4 playback of mplayer via the dvbs card has a really great picture quality. I took some movie, which is spread over 2 CD-Rs and on the TV it's really DVD quality :-) (Maybe also 1 movie = 1CD should work)
Would be great to use, for archiving vdr recordings, too ....
