You don't have to do this. It's enough to "make install" the
libdvdread (library in /usr/local/lib, includes in
/usr/local/include). VDR compiles fine here with that setup.

The rule is, that you must have the libdvdread includes either in
one of the default include-paths (/usr/include or
/usr/local/include should be fine) or in ../DVD.
