[vdr] Divx with 2 computers

hi,

what do you think about the following idea (dont know if it was mentioned
bevor):

i think most people here use 1 ghz and below (or better 500mhz and below)
computers for vdr. because this is not enough for mplayer and divx i used my
normal computer with 1,4 ghz. but this is not so good for a living room
solution. i think it would be nice, if i can encode divx to mpg with my 1,4
ghz computer ( using windows or using linux, just where i am at the moment
(mplayer works unter win32? or not (divx to mpg)?)) and write it over the
network on my vdr computer. the vdr computer should have a dummy file for
each divx film i have and when selecting this dummy file with vdr (in the
normal recordings menu) a script or so should start divxdecoding over the
network.

anybody think this coukd work? or has somebody currently have a similiar
config? would be very nice. i think this would be much to use (even with only
one computer because you dont have to use extra menus for divx, you dont even
recognise it because all looks like normal vdrrecordings)

just an idea
