I think a function like "keep max COUNT number of recordings" is much better.
For your "tagesschau" you set it to 1 (you get it daily). For other broadcasts
like "Nano" - this is brodcasted from Mo-Fr - you can use 1 too. 
With your "lifetime" feature I had to set the lifetime to 3 and I have 
sometimes 3 recordings on disk, sometimes 2 or 1.
