As long as you stay on the same polarity (H or V) and in only one band
(Low/High) you can record any program you want with only one Dish and
one LNB. Having these two parameters defined, DVBS Card is almost like a
TV tuner.

For instance French Canal+/CanalSatellite channels are mostly Vertical
Polarity in High Band.
Only ABSAT channels are with H Polarity. You have to check that on your
channels.conf

The problem is if you forget to take care of polarity change you may
waste you current(s) recording(s) ; you could patch VDR so that it
checks what is current Polarity and lock on that one if there is any
active recording.

Another idea is to use LNB with two or more outputs ; in that case the
LNB is more like a 4 LNB system on one dish. You have to wire one cable
per output.
