[vdr] Re: Multiple DVB cards?

You should drop that one-cable-idea. It's easier to take multiswitches.
Only if you can't use more cables you can do that, but then I'd take a real one-cable system
(http://www.wela-electronic.de/katalog/kanalaufbereitung/gp31d.gif).

The best solution is a multiswitch. You can either use a Quattro-LNB (about 35 Euro) and a 5/4 multiswitch
(about 130 Euro, 4 inputs for the Quattro-LNB, e.g. high/horizontal, high/vertikal, low/horizontal, low/vertikal and one terrestrian
input)
or a LNB with integrated multiswitch, which would be the best low-budget-solution (about 85 Euro).

I'm using a HIRSCHMANN HIT CS 404 and it works quite well. It has 4 outputs for 4 digital or analogue receivers. If you don't need
that terrestrian input or multiple LNBs it's the simpliest solution. Put it on your dish, take up to four cables from the LNB to
your PC and put up to four DVBs in your PC or use fewer DVBs and you can also use normal digital or analogue receivers.
