I thought about implementing this when I was looking into pausing live
tv. The problem is that with the current VDR when watching live tv the DVB
stream is handled by VDR only if VDR are using transfer mode, that is, VDR
is 'recording' on card 1 and showing the 'recording' on card 2 (primary
card). VDR uses transfer mode if the channel you are watching is available
only for a specific card (e.g. the one that has a CAM attached to it). For
the instant replay to work, we would have to force VDR into using transfer
mode all the time. By doing this you effectively lose one DVB card in your
system since you will always need two DVB cards for watching live tv (one
for 'recording' and one for 'replaying').

I don't think that adding instant replay support is worth loosing one DVB
card. Of course the feature could be configurable (on / off), but at least
I'm not interested in implementing it.
