[vdr] Re: Video Disk Recorder version 0.99pre5

Hello Klaus,

I installed the new VDR-pre5 and drivers from Feb. 2, and all works very
well. :)
Five timers with different use of the TITLE and EPISODE keywords and
different subdir structure were tested. For me, it seems to work!

KS> - The special keywords TITLE and EPISODE can now be used in timer file names
KS> (see MANUAL and FORMATS for details).
KS> - The new setup parameter NameInstantRecord can be used to define how an
KS> instant recording will be named (see MANUAL for details).

- I think the option "Mark instand Recording" (with the @) is obsolete
  now. You could delete the option and add the @ to the VDR character set
  so that the user can set the "Instant Record name" to "@TITLE -
  EPISODE".

- The title "TITLE - EPISODE" looks better than "TITLE-EPISODE", I think,
  so it sould be the default entry.

- By now, when no EPG subtitle is received but a title is received (like
  RTL2), an instant recording is named "Somename - " which also doesn't
  look nice. Any idea how to make it "Somename" in this case? What if I
  set a timer to "TITLE - EPISODE Backup" (not "~" !)?
  There are so many cases, I don't know how to handle this. Maybe a
  blank (_) is the most simple way.

  Hm, I have another idea right now. One could make options

     NOTITLESTRING   = CHANNEL
     NOEPISODESTRING = unknown

  which means that if no EPG title / episode string is received and the
  user used the TITLE and EPISODE keywords, they are replaced by this
  strings. CHANNEL means the channel name and is also a "macro".

Bye, Uwe.
