[vdr] is there a way to play mpg1 files with pause,forward.. without loosing a/v sync ?

Until now I am play my mpg1 files over vdr by renaming them from *.mpg
to *.vdr. 
But if I pause them I am loosing a/v sync :-(

Is there a way to play them with features like pause, forward, backward
...

I know there are patches for playing videocd´s. It is possible to
implement a feature for playing these *.mpg files from Harddisk, by
browsing like in the mp3 patch ???
