A slow Pentium (133 Mhz in my case) is enough for vdr. And even without 
DMA the harddisk will be fast enough to read or write one stream. Since 
i do not have a second card I could not thest if it can suply a second 
stream for timeshifting.
For DVD replay you'll need a more powerfull CPU for ac3 decoding.
