As you know, the PID is a 13 bit value in the TS headers - i.e. in the range 
0...8191.  PIDs 0, 1 and 2 and 16-20 (and possibly other values) are reserved 
for the service information and will never contain video or audio (but will 
contain data).

I would suggest that whatever special PID you reserve for "no video", you 
check for it when you are setting the filters and don't set a video filter on 
that PID.  A PID of 0 would seem to be the easiest and also the most logical.

Another thing to remember - the driver uses the dummy PID value of "8192" to 
get the entire TS from a budget card so you don't want to set that PID in 
normal use.
