I tested some time ago the nav-patches from Andreas Shultz and this
behaviour is caused
by negativ values for the subtitle-timeout functions (you can see this from
the debug output).
I assume that you have to fix this (looks like mixing of unsigned/signed
vars or not-initialized
vars).
