[vdr] hanging replay

Hi everybody!

My VDR ist running fine, most of time.
But some time ago, he started a tic getting on my nerves ...

The problem is:
While replaying video system freezes, picture hangs. The showed picture
is still and without any disturbance, after some seconds (about one to
five, seldom up to ten) all goes on without user-input as if nothing has
happend. Recording is not currupt, playing this video another time the
phenomenon doesn't occur or occur at another (random) place.

This happens irregularly, sometimes one after another, sometimes there
are days without any problem. I couldn't detect any relationship to
anything.

In the case the video hangs one after another, following procedure may
help: Repeatedly stopping and restarting replay (about three to ten
times). After that I can enjoy this video, mostly ;-)

Trying to interrupt the hanging replay with remote-control fails, but
the given commands seems to be stored in a queue. They are executed one
after another with the moment replay goes on.

My system:
pIII 500MHz; 128MB RAM

I've tried:
-changed filesystem on /video-directory from reiserfs to ext3
-changed from SuSE 7.2 to SuSE 7.3
-different DVB driver and VDR versions
-disconnect any not used IDE-peripherie (CD-ROM)
-DMA should be enabled: (I use a 60GB hd with 5400rpm for /video as
master without slave device)
ophelia:/ # hdparm /dev/hdc
/dev/hdc:
 multcount    = 16 (on)
 I/O support  =  0 (default 16-bit)
 unmaskirq    =  0 (off)
 using_dma    =  1 (on)
 keepsettings =  0 (off)
 nowerr       =  0 (off)
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    =  8 (on)
 geometry     = 116301/16/63, sectors = 117231408, start = 0

Speculation:
-it seems to be, that this doesn't interfer with recording video
-disk or controller could be defect

I've tried a lot, and every time I thought "that's it" it happend again.

If somebody has an idea what i could test to fix this, please help me!

Greetings,
Ansgar.
