compile vdr with REMOTE=LIRC, make and make insmod the DVB/driver/lirc,
but after adapting the path to LIRC in the source. Ensure to use Lirc
version 0.6.5. 

I added 
alias char-major-61 lirc-dev within modules.conf and started depmod, but
I'm not sure, this would be really necessary.
