Jepp.
It would solve (?) the problem for
those poor poor guys who only have one wire if unused cards are
tuned to the current "seen channel".

But:
Too it must tune/keep all cards (in such a "single wire system")
to the polarization which is to be recorded too.

Currently it is not (relyable/easy) possible to record(or more
inconvient- to view) a "v" Channel on a "single wire two card" system.
The user may try to watch or had recently watched a program on "h".
The voltage for "h" overides the voltage for "v": The v-recording would fail.
VDR would "panic" but this does not help: Because vdr will tune back
to the "last seen" (remember: this was "h"...) it'll be an endless loop...
a beautiful race...
The current work arround is:
If a program on "v" is to be recorded, setup so much
timers for that program as cards are in the system.
The 2,3,4 timers might run only for a few minutes and the recordings
can be deleted instantly.
(haven't tried yet, but IIRC VDR do "forgot" the "last seen"
channel when allocating the primary interface for a recording.) )

Very complicate is to tune manually to a "v" channel in such a
"one wire" system: You have to start a record on "v" manually
on all unused cards!
