Oh yes.. and because you trust your kids and don't have to hide something you also give them 
your root-passwords?
Maybe you should reconsider your statement. It must not always be 'censorship', but maybe just 
'security'. It's not only to hide things but also to save them. For example there may be some 
recording that you want to keep forever or some timers that should never be deactivated. If your 
kids can access anything, nothing will stop them from deleting or disabling, and may it only be on 
accident. So a good way to keep someone from doing silly things is to hide the possibilities. 
Commercial receivers have parental-locks, so why shouldn't VDR (>1.0.0) get some kind of user-
management (with own favourite channels, 'private' recordings and timers and maybe even 
more)? Maybe it's even possible to use linux' permission-mechanisms for that...
