This box is used as both Windows-PC and LinuxVDR by my daughter. She
didn't complain yet, but I wouldn't like to have it in my living-room
without doing something against the noise.

BTW, I am currently investigating a 19" 4HU case as a future replacement
for my current server.

I activated APM only as far as it is necessary to shutdown the system on
pressing the power off button. Standby seems to be pretty useless
because the power fan is still running. And Suspend to disk isn't
available.
