it's not a matter of linux, because it's a bootable image that makes 
pc-dos 7.0 start on your pc. they simply provide a free image for use 
with dd without an external windows program to write it...!

The problem is that I don't know if a spin-down utility is seful, since 
every n minutes vdr or whatever writes to disk. It would be very 
interesting howver, if it was possible to set a 5.4krpm speed or 
something like this...
