The tv-out-quality of the newer Matrox-cards shall be very good, especially in
the 'DVD-MAX'-mode. But those cards are rather expensive.. the Matrox-card
plus a low-budget DVB-card will cost more than a full-featured DVB-S, so you
won't save anything. The only advantage you might have is when you really often
need divx-playback and your cpu has not enough power for divx-over-dvb-s.
