Just tried my NTSC version of 'The Matrix', works flawlessly - so it's 
probably not a problem with the dvd code.

DMA should be on, singlespeed might work, but to be sure double speed would be 
better.

What are your systems specs?
What load do you have during replay? 
What version of libdvdcss and libdvdread do you use?
Did you try other dvd's?
