If there are no ID3 information the filename is displayed as
title, at least this is how it works here. The filename is
beautified a little bit, may be this fails for some exotic
filenames.

If it doesn't works for you, you should enable debug output in
mp3-config.h, move your id3info.cache out of the way and start
vdr from console. When you are playing a file without ID3
information you should see something like:

mp3: starting play
mad: scanned 8619 frames
mad: constant birate
mp3: faking title 'B-Movie-Nowhere Girl' from filename '/mnt/home/mp3/TEST/B-Movie-Nowhere_Girl.mp3'
