[vdr] DVD-Replay: IR-Remote not working and consuming all RAM

Hello,

some minutes after starting a DVD replay (VDR 1.0.2, siemens_dvb
0.9.4-2002-04-01, libdvdread 0.9.2) on my K6-II 300 MHz nearly all RAM
(but not the swap) is used up. I can't find out by whome, the most consuming
process is the replaying VDR with about 24%. Here's a little log I generated:
  2002-05-25, 04:23:26 -- Free: 183992, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 04:24:26 -- Free: 171560, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 04:25:26 -- Free: 144632, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 04:26:27 -- Free: 102596, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 04:27:27 -- Free: 63952, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 04:28:27 -- Free: 20896, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 04:29:28 -- Free: 4424, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 04:30:28 -- Free: 4408, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 04:31:29 -- Free: 4428, Total: 256108
When the memory is lowered to about 4 MBytes free and 4 MBytes buffered,
it remains on this level. After end of replay the memory is freed again:
  2002-05-25, 05:12:45 -- Free: 4440, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 05:13:45 -- Free: 186944, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 05:14:45 -- Free: 186912, Total: 256108
  2002-05-25, 05:15:45 -- Free: 186916, Total: 256108

When the memory is low, the system load will start to increase -- from about
0.5 at the beginning to 0.9, some times even over 1. In the same time the
infrared remote control will react more and more slow: to change the volume
level I have to press the button for roughly a second till it is recognized
about ten minutes after starting DVD replay (regardless which one I replay).

Some minutes later, so 15 or 20 after starting replay, lircd (running at
priority of -18!!!) will not react in any way, even pressing "Off" (defined
as VDR restart by irexec). At this time the memory level is the same, so there
is no "swapping" bottleneck or so. The swap space ist nearly unused.

When I do a telnet to SVDRP (port 2001) and enter "hitk volume+" or something
like that, VDR will react at once, so the problem seems to be between lircd
(version 0.6.4), VDR and the DVD plugin.

Any comments or help?
