Yes, every programm can do that, just start xawtv before starting VDR,
then quit xawtv and then use maybe nuppelvideo or something

Well you can simply burn the .vdr files onto a CDR and move them from
machine to machine. Well the files actually are all normal MPEG2 files,
every programm should be able to read them.
