My understanding, and correct me if you find out otherwise, is that it will
work on DVB compliant systems like my DishNetwork but, unfortunately, the
channels are mostly encrypted.  The unencrypted stuff is things like some 
public broadcast channels.  Otherwise I would love to build one for myself
