Ohh? What's the use of having that outside? I mean most soundcards have
their spdif input inside with a pin-header. Besides at least my DVB-card
had an buildt-in d/A converter (well it got fried, but anyhow it mostly
worked)

Hmm, maybe that card was developed partially in the US and someone
confused celsius with farenheit :)

Try a CPU-fan blowing directly into the hole.
