Well S-Video is only done by an extension which might not be a standard.
Well there is no need for manually switching this because you have
missed a lot of important signals:

RGB: Blanking, enables you to use RGB only at some parts of the image
       it was originally meant to provide the possibility to super-
       impose text. It's also used to sense RGB-input

Control: 2 controll lines (with a seperate ground) to be used for 
       all kinds of controlling, this is not really standarticed,
       but there are several standards using it

Controll: +12V for switching the TV-set to AV. On some modern sets,
switching
	this to +5V switches to 16:9

The normal video and audio signals are bi-directional and full-duplex.
The other signals are not.
