pes2aud_es file.vdr > file.mp2 does work, most sources having 192 or
256 kbit/s MP2 (MPEG 1 Layer 2) 48 kHz audio.
You can pipe into lame with --mp2input --resample 44.1 options to
create "normal" MP3.

Btw, concerning radio channels. Recording works fine for me, but
if replaying the VDR recoding within VDR 1.04, playing time
information is wrong (too long). Any idea?
